Camp includes riding, stable and classroom.
This is a unique hands-on experience for children that love horses.
RIDING - Riding will be done under the direction of professional
instructor Linda Abrams. Camp riding is less formal than lessons &
exposes campers to a variety of fun activities & games depending
on the group's interest and ability. Some timid campers may
benefit from lessons prior to camp to enhance their experience.
BARN - Campers will learn basic horse care such as mucking out,
grooming, tacking & un-tacking, saddling & bridling, feeding &
stable management. Students will be working closely with horses in
CLASSROOM - Students meet in the school's
heated / air conditioned classroom to learn about breeds, colors,
ailments, conformation, riding theory, nutrition, bits, hoof care, etc.
Visual aids will be used. Campers may do crafts while watching
REQUIRED ITEMS - Attire will be discussed in detail upon
sign-up. In general, boots with a heel & an approved helmet are
essential. These items can be rented from us. Campers need
weather appropriate clothes. Dress to be outside. PLEASE
CHECK WITH US BEFORE PURCHASING ANY ITEMS, THE
CORRECT ITEMS COST LESS IN OUR TACK SHOP.
CAMP INFO: Camps fill early; sign early. Camps open to
children 7 yrs. & older. Adult campers always welcome. Boots &
helmet rental available..
TO REGISTER - Register in person. Deposit of $75 holds
space; balance & release due 10 days prior to start date. Register
may be available on last week, if space available with $25 late fee.
